Re: Uptown Business District Member Direct Grant (CARES Act Grant Funding)

ROUND 1: Application Closed

The Uptown Board of Directors submitted a Scope of Work which was approved in November 2020 that includes utilizing $75,000 for direct grants to businesses within the Uptown BID boundaries. To apply for the 
Uptown BID Direct Grant please complete the application below.


IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THIS PROGRAM:​

  • The window to submit the application is November 20, 2020 – December 7, 2020
  • Applications submitted after December 7, 2020 will not be considered.
  • Verification of financial information may be requested.
  • Determination of grants will be made before December 15, 2020.
  • Documentation of expenses described in the grant application are required to be submitted before funds are dispersed to recipient Uptown BID member.
  • Funds must be spent by recipient Uptown BID member by December 31, 2020.
  • A final report of expenditures must be submitted to Uptown BID management no later than February 1, 2021.
  • Reimbursement for COVID-19 related expenses incurred between March and October 2020 may be considered for retroactive funding.
  • A maximum of $10,000 may be awarded.
  • Grants will be based on the direct effects of the COVID-19 business shut downs implemented by the State of California, the County of Los Angeles, and the City of Long Beach.

  • Rent/Mortgage/Lease
  • Insurance
  • Business Licenses
  • Utilities (including phone, internet, telecommunications)
  • Debt Payments
  • Essential Staff Payroll
  • Website/Marketing
  • Memberships
  • Equipment Leasing​

EQUIPMENT for Reimbursement
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Technology
  • Furnishings Purchased to Operate Safely (i.e., outdoor items, Plexiglas partitions)

LOST/CANCELLED WORK

  • Payroll
  • Events

If any Board member has a conflict of interest with an application, they will remove themselves from the discussion and determination of funds with respect to that particular application.
